Cindy Scaro

Cindy is a Licensed Professional Counselor, National Certified Counselor, and Certified School Counselor. She has earned a Masters in School Counseling from Seton Hall university.

Cindy’s specialty focus areas are adolescents, young adults, and families. She interned at an after school partial inpatient program. In that role, she provided innovative individual, group, and family therapy to teenagers. The program ranged from areas that included depression, anxiety, anger management, low self-esteem, bullying, self-harm, conduct disorders, school related issues, stress management, grief and loss, and trauma.

Cindy went on to work in a school setting and furthered her experience with the adolescent population. She has experience with the LGBTQ+ community, and also with harassment, intimidation and bullying cases. Cindy also has an understanding of the process for individual educational plans as well as 504’s.

Cindy utilizes play therapy, trauma informed therapy, mindfulness, and client centered modalities. She strives to make therapy fun and applicable through games and play therapy for children. Cindy strives to create a safe atmosphere and focuses on getting to know the individual and developing a trusting therapeutic relationship.

She focuses on ensuring that the client is comfortable in discussing anything that they may not be comfortable discussing with their family or friends. Her main goal is to elicit long lasting behavioral changes. She doesn’t believe in a “one size fits all” approach. What she does believe in is a holistic approach to finding the change, and learning to navigate our way to that change.
