Khyia Ward

Khyia graduated Teachers College, Columbia University in 2022 with her M.A. in Mental Health Counseling and Ed.M. in Psychological Counseling as well as an Advanced Certification in Sex, Women, and Gender Studies. She completed her B.A. in Psychology with a minor in Sociology at Rutgers University – Camden in 2020.

Khyia has experience working with individual clients in both community and clinical settings. She has worked with clients around mental health concerns, personal growth and development, behavioral problems, and interpersonal issues.

Her approach to counseling is through the lens of humanistic/person-centered therapy, multicultural therapy and positive psychology. She is skilled at building rapport with clients, providing a space where clients feel safe, and helping clients appreciate their potential. Khyia works with clients to discover and build upon their strengths, gain insight into themselves, and develop a sense of meaning in their lives.
